FAQs

  • Founded in 2023, SKEVA East is a volleyball club in Southeastern Kentucky, and we are the sister club to SKEVA of Bowling Green, KY. With a commitment to excellence, we offer high-level training and competitive opportunities for players in our area.

  • Our practices and clinics are primarily based out of Corbin, KY and London, KY. However, our volleyball community is more expansive, with players traveling from counties including Perry, Whitley, Casey, and Rockcastle, to name a few.

  • For all athletes, regardless of if they are new or returning, the 2024-2025 season will have a non-refundable mandatory $40 tryout fee. This year, we will also offer a pre-tryout clinic with an optional $20 clinic fee. (For athletes registering for both the pre-tryout clinic AND tryouts, the combined fee will be $50 total.)

For athletes who make a SKEVA East team, there will be a $200 deposit due at the start of the season, then a $1,400 cost for the season.

For the $1,400 fee, we offer three payment options:

    • OPTION 1: Pay in full via check only. This option will grant a $50 discount. (Complete 1-time fee = $1,350.)

    • OPTION 2: Payment plan in 4 installments. Payments begin December 1. (Each installment = $350.)

    • OPTION 3: Payment plan in 6 installments. Payments begin December 1. (Each installment = $234.)

  • SKEVA East offers a travel volleyball experience that is geared toward creating opportunities for your athlete to play at a higher level. Due to the many inherent expenses in club volleyball, these opportunities are only made possible through player fees, fundraisers, and community aid.

SKEVA East's goal is for athletes to get as much in return for their investment as possible. Players fees are used to help pay for:

    • Player gear: jerseys (personalized and kept by player), practice shirts, club attire

    • Tournament fees

    • Coaching staff: salaries, training

    • Additional clinics and individual skills days

    • Gym space, volleyball equipment

    • USAV insurance

    • Coverage: club website, social media, recruitment video, etc.

Some of the things players can expect to get in return for their fees include (but are not limited to):

    • Increased skill training that can be relayed to other settings (i.e. school volleyball)

    • Increased visibility for college scholarship opportunities

    • Targeted focus on the value of community and team-building with athletes from other areas

  • For people who are unfamiliar with club volleyball, we like to compare it to AAU basketball or travel softball.

Our teams exclusively play in weekend tournaments and are typically traveling both in and around the state of Kentucky to cities such as Louisville or Gatlinburg from January to May.

  • To play on a SKEVA East team, athletes will attend tryouts in October after the KHSAA volleyball season ends. Following tryouts, selected athletes will be extended offers to join respective teams.

When tryout times and locations are decided, we will make a post on our social media platforms.
