Cody Petrey
DIRECTOR
18 CRIMSON HEAD COACH
Cody has been playing volleyball for 13 years in adult competitive tournaments across the eastern part of the US. He has been coaching for 11 years at the club level and has served as head coach for 15 travel teams and led instruction for multiple clinics, camps, and lessons. He has also been officiating 7 years for KHSAA and NAIA. Cody is the founder and director for SKEVA East, which was established in 2023. -
Lauren Petrey
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
16 CRIMSON HEAD COACH
Lauren has been playing volleyball for 19 years, beginning in junior high, then playing collegiately at Union College, earning 3 conference titles and 1 national bid. She now plays in adult competitive tournaments. She has been coaching for 11 years, instructing ages ranging 12u to high school. In which time, she coached at Lynn Camp for 8 years, becoming most-winning coach in program history, earning titles as both district champs and All A champs in a single season. Lauren also coached at Corbin Middle School for 3 seasons and Corbin High School for 1 season. She has now been coaching at South Laurel High School for the last 2 seasons. She also has been teaching 3rd graders for last 9 years. -
Shelley Nunley

18 CRIMSON ASST. COACH
Shelley played volleyball for 9 years, beginning with South Laurel High School in 8th grade, eventually becoming a varsity captain and playing in the KHSAA State Tournament 3 separate years. She finished her athletic career playing on the club team at WKU. She has been coaching for 8 years in both Bowling Green and in Southeastern KY. She has coached at the high school level for Pulaski County, Warren East, and currently at South Laurel for a combined 6 seasons. Shelley has also coached at the club level at BRAVO, Horizon, and now SKEVA East for a combined 8 seasons. She has been teaching at SLHS for the last 3 years. -
Cade Cooney
16 CRIMSON ASST. COACH
Cade began playing competitive volleyball 5 years ago in various tournaments and leagues on the east coast. He played 2 years with the Eastern Kentucky University club volleyball team. He has also mentored and coached athletes aged 8-14 in various baseball leagues and camps. Cade wanted us to include that he has a strong passion for growing youth sports in the area.
